Rants: Former Boston RedSox Manager Bobby Valentine– for accusing David Ortiz for quitting on the team during the season. Of Bobby V makes says this after he was fired. If what he says was true why didn’t he call Ortiz out at the time? Or better yet he was the manager why not discipline Ortiz for quitting on the team if it happened the way Bobby Valentine said it did?
It is things like this that gives credence to why it took so long for Valentine to be hired in the major leagues after being fired by the Mets back in the beginning of the decade. He came in the job as manager of the RedSox picking a fight with Kevin Youkillis and left making accusations that David Ortiz quit on the team. Perhaps it isn’t everybody else that’s the problem Bobby.
Rants: The New York Yankees- For leaking the story about Alex Rodriguez flirting with a woman in the stands. No one would have known anything about it in the first place, but the Yankees was embarrassed by the incident and decided to embarrass Alex Rodriguez right back. They leaked the story, and combined with the benching of A-Rod and being pinch hit for during the playoff series against the Detroit Tigers, it made for good copy but it was petty, very petty.
Rants: The New York Jets – Can anyone explain why did the Jets trade for Tim Tebow in the first place? For the all the talk about how he was going to be their secret weapon on offense and add another dimension to the team, so far 6 games in we know this much: Woody Johnson LOVES Tim Tebow and is the driving force behind getting Tebow here to sell PSL’s plain and simple. Ryan and Sparano have no confidence in Tebow. They don’t know what to do with him and for that matter based on the play calling in the Patriots game in over time, the Coach and Offensive Coordinator had no confidence in Sanchez either.
Rants: Miami Marlins – Not for firing Ozzie Guillen which we all knew was coming, but for not having a sense of direction in which way they are going. Owner Jeff Loria has 5 managers in the last 10 years. He’s becoming more like George Steinbrenner was in his time with the revolving door on his managers. It’s time for the marlins to have some real stability when it comes to hiring the next manager.
Raves: Charles Wang and the Borough of Brooklyn– Islanders owner Charles Wang put up the good fight for years to keep the Islanders on Long Island and when he couldn’t, he did the next best thing. He kept the team in New York. His hard work was now rewarded with a new 25 year lease in Brooklyn he can now begin to recruit free agents and build the Islanders into a winner. In the blink of an eye Brooklyn has gone from one professional team to now three professional teams. Three? Yes Three. The Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets A-ball team) counts as a professional team, then the Nets and now the Islanders.
Raves: San Francisco Giants –Over coming 6 elimination games to get to the World Series, would have been enough to say we made it and rest on their heels. But getting to the World Series isn’t good enough; now up 2-0 against the Tigers they are looking to make it 3-0 with game 3 in Detroit.
Raves: Eli (The Elite) Manning –his last minute come from behind victory, against the Washington Redskins has now added another paragraph to an already impressive resume of last minute drives to pull out wins in the face of defeat. Robert Griffin III may have been disappointed about losing the game in the final moments, but here’s hoping he was watching one of the very best at work, doing what he does best. I have said before and will say it again to many Tom Brady maybe the best quarterback in the NFL but…Eli has beaten twice when it mattered most, in the Super Bowl.
The trading for Tim Tebow was the dumbest move made by a team since Ed Whitson was traded to the Yankees! A 4th round pick for a bench warmer? Seriously??
agreed. But PSL’s and Woody johnson was what this trade was about . Creating a buzz . Woody told Mr. T and Rex the barking dog to do what you have to do to make it work . But we know how that worked out.Tebow by the way didn’t exactly shine too well here either. He couldn’t beat out Sanchez either. God sent Tebow to the jets ??or really then he has a real good sense of humor then. I CAN’T CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF THE WIND, BUT I CAN ADJUST MY SAILS SO I CAN ALWAYS REACH MY DESTINATION.

From what I’ve heard PSL’s haven’t been positively affected by this ridiculous trade. So apparently it’s really just about Woody. Mike Tannenbaum also has to o.
expect the following to happen the Jets will finish 6-10 or 7-9 not make the playoffs. Both Sanchez and Tebow will request trades and the Jets will get a personnel guy in to “Assist Mike Tannebaum” while he will concentre on salary cap responsiblities and Rex will be on a short leach with Tony Sparano shown the door. I CAN’T CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF THE WIND, BUT I CAN ADJUST MY SAILS SO I CAN ALWAYS REACH MY DESTINATION.
