Can the Knicks play Philly every night? After seeing the Knicks the previous night, you would think the Sixers would be waiting in ambush for the Knicks. They were embarrassed in the Garden and were returning home to play the same Knick team again. Yet the Sixers after streaking off to a 14-4 lead to start the game forgot how to play and the Knicks schooled them for the second night in a row. It makes the Knicks 3-0 on the season, and this team has that look, the look of being locked in. they are playing defense like the Ewing led Knicks used to. And by the way remember when everyone thought Raymond Felton was a product of Dantoni’s system? That’s a lie. He has been playing very good basketball in the first three games. He has done a very good job with Kurt Thomas on the pick and roll. And yes you don’t see Carmelo on Isolation plays either. This win streak is a small sample of TEAMwork at its best with the Knicks. You hope as a fan it only gets better. Is anyone looking to trade Carmelo now? I think not! The Knicks aren’t going to go 82-0 that’s for sure but yes I believe they can be a 50 win team plus more. Defense is their calling card so far, and it is good to see it has returned. It’s been missing from this team far too long. Defense and three point shooting has been the Knicks stable thus far. Not sure if the three point shooting will hold up all season, you know there are going to be nights that you win by the three point shot, you lose by the three point shot, but you can see this is a smarter Knick team than recent editions that have graced the Garden floor in some time. Yes I am trying to hold down the enthusiasm, it’s an 82 game season, this is game 3 so there is a lot of season left to be played, and we have to see how this team handles adversity that comes their way but as I said in the previous entry so far so good.
