Jets owner: ‘I didn’t sign up for 3-6 season’

Jets Owner Woody Johnson, stated yesterday at a news conference that in his words

”I didn’t sign up for a 3-6 season. We haven’t had one of these in a while. I’m not happy about it, yet I am optimistic that some of these things can be corrected.”

”The record says what’s going on,” Johnson said during practice Thursday. ”We’re a 3-6 team. Are we happy? Are they happy? Are the players happy? I know the fans aren’t happy. The answer is no. We’re not happy. We’re not happy with 3-6″. Hey Woody, if you are not happy with 3-6 imagine how the fans of this team feels watching it week to week. The team’s General manager over evaluates his talent on the team and didn’t not seek to replace the players that left the team especially in the past 2 years, losing Jericho Cotchary, Alan Faneca, Thomas Jones, LaDamien Tomlinson, Shawn Ellis, Kris Jenkins, Damien Woody among others, and not replacing them with high chararcter players, has put this team in this situation. Instead under Woody Johnson’s blessing , they went after players of questionable character (Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Buress, Brett Farve don’t forge this was a Woody Johnson move) among others or players that clearly do not fit the style (Tim Tebow) they claim they will run. Yet Woody Johnson wants to turn this around quickly. Mike Tannebaum will clearly be on the hot seat …Woody Johnson is correct that 3-6 says what’s going on. The team isn’t as good as it believes it is, and Rex Ryan doesn’t hold the players accountable for their shoddy play. This season is a season they should have been able to be better, the patroits aren’t as good as they were and haven’t run away from the pack yet and the Bills and Dolphins, have been ok so it’s there for the Jets to take control, if they themselves start playing with a purpose, and Rex Needs to understand there are two sides to football Defense AND Offense. He cares nothing about the offense which he should since it is what headcoaches should be also able to oversee and put their stamp on, yet he is as removed from that side of the ball. Yes Woody, we the Jets fans didn’t sign up for 3-6 this season either.
