Knicks vs Nets part 1 ..Nets win the Battle in Brooklyn… for now

The battle in Brooklyn was played lastnight andthe winner was…the Brooklyn Nets 96-89 in a game that went into overtime. The Knicks were without Jason Kidd and that might have been the difference throughout this game for the Knicks. He has been the catalyst in the Knicks start to the season on both ends of the floor. Maybe it also had an effect on Ray Felton who had a chance to win the game in regulation and missed. But whatever the result we do now have 2 New York team that are worth bragging about and two teams that will battle for Eastern supermacy this season. Providing the Knicks can stay healthy all season, they will be a legitmate threat to the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics. The Nets, will not fade away either. This was the first game between these two intercity rivals with 3 more games to play over the course of the season. So basedon lastnight’s game it’s safe to say that a rivaly has been born. And yes for those of us who were raised in Brooklyn and are lifelong Knick fans you feel torn. Happy that Brooklyn is represented and has a good team but …not at the expense of the Knicks. Maybe this is what baseball used to be like in New York with the Yankees, Giants and Dodgers. The Nets are trying to loosen the strangle hold the Knicks have in the city and by now being in Brooklyn, the Nets have invaded the Knicks backyard. I am all for Brooklyn getting the Nets and in couple of years the Islanders too. But I am always going to be …a Knick fan. So round one goes to the Nets …but the Knicks will be heard from …Go New York Go New York Go

    1. I think the Knicks are better and in the end will either be the 2 0r 3 seed depending on Boston, the Nets didn’t finish the season last year and was woefully buried under 500, so to go from not making the playoffs to being the number 2 seed with the same team as last season minus Joe Johnson is asking alot

      1. Agree on both counts, however it is good that both teams have gotten off to good starts usually when teams have a busy offseason signing alot of players it takes maybe all season to jell if they jell at all

  1. As the saying goes , it’s not how you start , it’s how you finish . Try using the excuse that you were quick off the trigger during a moment of intimacy with a female , and see how that works for your game . LOL ,LOL,LOL !!!

Let me pose this question to you , we know the NBA has a soft salary cap of just over $58 million ($58.044 million) , yet so many of the teams are financially irresponsible . Yet Stern and the rest of his buddies remain so damn clueless as to the path they’re taking .
