Jacksonville fired their coach Mike Mularkey, on Thursday after hiring their new General Manager David Caldwell. Caldwell made it clear when asked about Tim Tebow coming to play for the Jaguars, that one Tebow is currently on the Jets roster and two if he (Tebow) were released ”I can’t imagine a scenario in which he’ll be a Jacksonville Jaguar – even if he’s released,” he was asked the question again and Caldwell repeated it again to make sure it was understood by all, that Tebow will not be coming to Jacksonville as Jaguar.Yes I know Jets fans everywhere wish Tebow were in Jacksonville, but the view in Jacksonville is the same in New York as it was in Denver… He is not an NFL quarterback. It was suggested here that Tebow maybe learn how to be a running back . He isn’t without skills, but for someone who was drafted as a quarteback he doesn’t have what teams need at that position. So where does Tebow go from here? For a guy who is supposed to be a winner, he had a tough time beating out Greg Mc Elroy for playing time even when the incumbent quarterback Mark Sanchez was stinking up the place. So what does that tell you about Tebow? I maintained from the beginning this was a bad trade for the Jets, if Tebow was as good as everyone wanted to believe then why did John Elway go and sign Peyton Manning(Which turned out to be a good move) a quarterback who had missed a year after 4 surgeries on his neck? The fact he came to the Jets so cheap should let you know how much Elway wanted Tebow gone.On the upside for Tebow at least there is still 2 more teams in Florida that could be interested if he were let go by the Jets in the Dolphins and the Bucanners, but somehow I can’t imagine either banging down the Jets door to get him back in the sunshine state. From all accounts he’s a good person and means well but where does he fit in as a football player? Is he finished as a player? That’s doubtful again he does have some skills mostly as a runner. So at this point it is going to be to be someone who can convince Tebow it’s time to change up and learn and remake himself over as a running back. But it is going to be require a make over in his mindset going forward if he is going to continue his career as a NFL football player.
Chalk that up to common sense by the new Jags general manager ! Why have the smell from the Everbank Stadium be far worse than the stench emitted from the St John’s River ? It was bad enough with Gabbert and Chad Henne . The addition of Tebow would make it even worse .
He is going to have to remake himself over as a football player if he is going to stay in the NFL
You simply cannot turn chicken ##it into chicken liver . It’s fact . Tebow apologists out there can’t face up to that fact !
Jets’ coach Rex Ryan has repeatedly made this remark about Tebow . ” He’s the first one into practice , and the last one out , with his “work ethic ” being unparallelled ” .
If Tebow’s work ethic were that great, then why has there been no progress in terms of his play ? And it’s not about him not being given the chance , this is a kid with limited abilities . Only the anally retentive would try to suggest otherwise .
