Lakers are the second team in LA… Clippers have the second best record in..the NBA

One team is 17-24 and sinking quicker than the Titanic, the other is thriving and owns the second best record in the league, a half game behind the Oklahoma City Thunder at 32-10. Both teams play in the Los Angeles in the same building (The Staples center)so if I were to tell you that the Lakers are 17-24 and the Clippers aer 32-10 would you believe it? Of course not. LA is Lakertown right? Ther Clippers have bad for so long that why would you expect anything different right? Well either look in your local newspaper in the sports section or go on line and look it up but at nearly the half way point in the season and the Lakers are near the bottom of the Pacific division and the Clippers are the top team in the Division 6 games ahead of the Golden State Warriors. Things have gooten ugly of the Lakers, Dwight Howard for all his talent is up to his same triack like in Orlando, Pau Gasol is benched Steve Nash is playing catch up having missed a good part of the season already, Mike Dantoni replaced Mike Brown and the team isn’t any better and Kobe is getting more grouchier by the day as the loses pile up.So maybe the Lakers on paper were not as good as we thought they would be and the trade to bring Dwight Howard hasn’t worked out too well for the Sixers either as they keep waitng for Andrew Bynum to return from injury.Which is why the games are played on the court and not on paper. So while the Clippers are coming off a 6 point loss to the Warriors they have a game tonight against the Thunder at home (LA). Should the Clippers win they would be 33-10 a ful game ahead of rht Thunder and a half game ahead of the San Antonio Spurs. That battle is usually where you would find the Lakers, not the Clippers. The Lakers have stars no doubt about it in Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and of course Kobe Bryant, but the Clippers have stars too, Blake Griffin, former Laker Lamar Odom, Jamal Crawford and of course Chris Paul aka CP3. The Lakers have the championship pedigee but the Clippers have youth, and athleticism to match.The Lakers aren’t used to being in this position, being second dog to the Clippers of all teams. But this season might be the passing of what we once knew as the Los Angeles Lakers and the beginning of what looks like a nice run for the Los Angeles Clippers the top team in Los Angeles.
