The Wild West:Seahawks and 49ers make deals

Anquan Boldin.percy harvin

The Seattle Seahawks pushed all their chips in the middle of the table, they’re in. The NFC champion Sanfrancisco 49ers counted. Both teams are playing for high stakes and it is getting interesting. The Seahawks traded for Percy Harvin leaving the Vikings with a very unhappy Superstar in Adrian Peterson. The 49ers responded with a trade as well getting Anquan Boldin from the Baltimore Ravens. Both moves on paper seem to work for both teams especially the Harvin move. He is younger and with the chance to play for a possible Super Bowl contender year in year out this could serve as a incentive to play well. With the Ravens trading Boldin you get the feeling while it was nice for Flacco to get his money it turned out to be costly for the Ravens having to trade on of their better players and leaving Flacco one less target to throw to.

Count on the 49ers with a bunc of draft picks and the desire to not only match but go one up on Seattle, to place a call east to a team who has a player…when healthy is the best cover corner in the league and could cover any receiver the Seahawks have. Things will get more interesting leading up to the draft, to be sure. Players are already being cut and traded and teams are looking to make moves that will make themselves better if this season than maybe seasons going forward.

With these deals though the 49ers and Seahawks are possible match ups for the NFC Championship or as Richard Sherman of the Seahawks said “I’m almost positive there will be,”

Welcome to Smallthoughtsinasportsworld. We keep it fun and we keep interesting and informative. On Tuesdays we go back in time with Old School Tuesdays, on Thursdays we keep it fun by Smallthoughts Trivia Thursday and on Fridays ...it is Smallthoughts: Rant of the Week and Smallthoughts:Rave of the Week and we also post the answer from Smallthoughts:Trivia Thursday. I am a lifelong New York Mets, Knicks and Jets and Giants fan. I root hard for my teams and have rooted for them even when it wasn't and in some cases still isn't easy. I enjoy talking sports, and on here I get to write about it as well. I have my thoughts hence Small thoughts, we will not always agree, but respectfully speak about what we feel. I invite your comments and feedback as well. You can also follow me on twitter @bklynboy59 and facebook Jerry bklynboy Small
