I saw a story on Yahoo sports written by Adrian Wojnarowski, that the Atlanta Hawks were interested in talking to and possibly hiring Stan Van Gundy, with the possibility of also luring Dwight Howard to his hometown of Atlanta. On the surface that seems like a plan until I remembered that Howard went to the Orlando Magic management and voiced his concerns about Van Gundy as head coach of the team and as a consequence Van Gundy was fired. There was bad blood the player and the coach. I am not so sure that such a reunion is in the best interest of the Hawks. Pick one the player or the coach. I can see the Hawks making a push for van gundy because he is a good coach, I can see them making a play for Howard the hometown boy coming home. But both at the same time? I don’t think so.
Dwight Howard had problems playing for the Lakers, had problems with playing for Mike Dantoni a players coach, do you see him playing for Van Gundy again? I don’t.
No, I don’t either.
Seems like Dwight Howard has had his share of problems. What’s going on there? Is it him or is it everybody else?
Short answer is it is him. The longer answer is it is part of the society we live in today…the sense of entitlement. At times it comes through loud and clear in our entertainers, movie stars, rap artists, singers, so why shouldn’t athletes be any different?
They wouldn’t be.
Sadly Dwight Howard is fast becoming the rule and not the exception
That’s too bad –
sadly though Dwight Howard is fast becoming the rule and not the exception.
