Expect Brian McCann to chose between the Yankees and the Rangers

Brian Mc Cann

Soon to be free agent catcher Brian Mc Cann is expected to receive offers from the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers a source has informed me. No dollar amount was quoted but it is known that the Yankees are very much interested in Brian McCann and is considered to be their top target to fill the catcher position on their roster.

Expect the Yankees to take care their in house situation with Robinson Cano first and then make a serious bid for the lefty hitting Mc Cann. There are other potentila holes the Yankees are looking to fill like on their pitching staff with Andy Petitte and Mariano Rivera no longer around due to retirement and they may have to fill Hiroki Kuroda spot in the rotation if they do not resign him. The left side of their infield is also in question with the on going battle with ARod’s pending suspension and Derek Jeter’s health.

It has been speculated that the Yankees plan to be very active this winter in reshaping their roster and bringing in McCann would be a big addition if that signing does happen.
