He was loud, brash and went by the name of Prime Time. He made no apologies for his brashness, he was a two sport star like Bo Jackson but unlike Bo Jackson he was really only good and great at one sport…football. Deon Sanders played Baseball for the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves but was better known as the lockdown corner on sundays for the Atlanta Falcons, the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys.Sanders was not no way as physical like a Ronnie Lott but quarterbacks knew not to throw in his direction or the famed cornerback would intercept the pass and run it back for a score. Welcome to Smallthoughtsinasportsworld. We keep it fun and we keep interesting and informative. On Tuesdays we go back in time with Old School Tuesdays, on Thursdays we keep it fun by Smallthoughts Trivia Thursday and on Fridays ...it is Smallthoughts: Rant of the Week and Smallthoughts:Rave of the Week and we also post the answer from Smallthoughts:Trivia Thursday. I am a lifelong New York Mets, Knicks and Jets and Giants fan. I root hard for my teams and have rooted for them even when it wasn't and in some cases still isn't easy. I enjoy talking sports, and on here I get to write about it as well. I have my thoughts hence Small thoughts, we will not always agree, but respectfully speak about what we feel. I invite your comments and feedback as well. You can also follow me on twitter @bklynboy59 and facebook Jerry bklynboy Small View more posts
I never was a Deion Sanders fan. I think I’m too old school to have liked someone who showboated most of the time although he had some amazing talent. Chad Johnson and Terrele Owens fall into that same category. Strange thing Jerry is that I didn’t like their brashness but was addicted to them anyway…
Nice article!!
I tried to seperate the brashness with his sheer covercorner skills like a Darrelle Revis with out the prime time stuff
Oh, I know. And he was one hell of a talented dude. No question!
