Nolan Ryan was noted for his no hitters he was the king of no hitters (7)the most in major league history. He is tied with Bob Feller for most one-hitters, with 12. Ryan also pitched 18 two-hitters. Yet Ryan never won a Cy Young. Ryan has 5,714 career strikeouts which rank first in baseball history. Nicknamed the Ryan Express for his fastball which routinely hit 100 mph or higher he was able to mantain his heater well into his 40’s.Ryan is currently the only major league baseball player to have his number retired by at least three different teams: the Angels, Astros, and Rangers.
