Rants: NFL asking musical artist to pay to play at half time of the Super Bowl. The single most watched event in this country is the SuperBowl over the years the NFL has had musical guest from the Rolling Stones to Michael Jackson to Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake take the stage at Halftime . Now comes a report that the NFL has asked some of the musical acts under consideration to play at next year’s big game to pay the league to take the stage, according to a published report. The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that the league has notified Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Coldplay that they are under consideration to perform at halftime of Super Bowl 49 next February. In the process of notifying them, the paper reports that the league has also asked some of the artists to either give a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour proceeds to the league or make some type of financial contribution in exchange for being offered the show. The NFL doesn’t and hasn’t paid for acts to play at the Super Bowl, and the NFL is a 9 BILLION DOLLAR Busines. When does the greed of the NFL become enough?
Rants:Johnny Manziel benched to start the regular season…and that is news? Okay Manziel giving the Redskins the finger when they gave him a hard time factored into the benching, but also the Browns served notice that playing time needs to be earned not giving to the popular Quarterback. Apparently the Browns do not feel Johnny Football is ready for a starring role just yet. They want Manziel to sit and learn first, The Jaguarsand the Vikings are doing the same with Blake Bortles and Teddy Bridewater repectfully.
Rants:Jerry Jones …There was a report that said Jones wanted to draft Johnny Manziel and nearly did until someone snatched the draft card away from Jones. That can’t make current QB…Tony Romo feel comfortable that his boss has eyes fopr Manziel, even after Jones signed Romo to a big contract extension. Imagine Johnny Football a Cowboy? How crazy would that have gotten in Texas. Someone else was doing a better job at thinking about protecting the current QB and drafted a lineman instead.
Raves: Mo’Ne Davis …for making the Cover of Sports Illustrated . She is the first little leaguer to appear on the cover of the legendary sports journal.
Raves:Jim Kelly …whose seems to be winning his battle with cancer. An initial physical exam showed no evidence of sinus cancer three months after the former Buffalo Bills quarterback completed radiation and chemotherapy treatments, Dr. Peter Costantino said in a release issued by New York City’s Lenox Hill Hospital on Wednesday.
”The treatments have so far completely eliminated Mr. Kelly’s pain, and his level of function has essentially returned to normal,” said Costantino, who heads the hospital’s head and neck institute. ”Further, on physical examination, there is no evidence of the cancer.”
The statement was issued a day after Kelly visited the hospital for a follow-up examination.
Costantino said a series of tests over the next week will determine if further treatments are necessary.
”It is possible that no further treatment will be required,” he said.
You never wish cancer on anyone and here’s hoping for a recovery to good health.
