Rants: Kevin Garnett.., this once proud player has not only lost his skills but has had to resort to head games literally when he headbutted Dwight Howard during a recent game. He is not only losing his skills but has lost respect around the league. Its time to call it a career.
Rants: New York Knicks…16 loses in a row and counting…you know James Dolan is screaming I paid Phil Jackson 60 million Dollars for this???
Rants: Doug Marrone… Let me see if I got this straight…you tried to get noticed by your in coming Owner who basically ignored you so you opted out of your contract collect 4 million, thinking you were getting the Jets job in New York, then you found out that Denver was cleaning house with their coaches and you got no call from them, but there is the Falcons who didn’t have a coach and the Bears who also don’t have a coach so you interview for them, neither the Jets, Bears or Falcons called you back for second interviews, the Jets hired Bowles, the falcons are said to be interested in Quinn and the Bears haven’t hired anyone yet but you weren’t called back. Oh by the way your replacement in Buffalo is none other than Rex Ryan the guy you beat twice this year 43-23 and 38-3 (131-26) is talking about you saying you aren’t a loyal guy… when the musical chairs of NFL Coaches stops will you be without a job? Can’t be fun to be you right now.
Raves: New York Jets…Finally they got it right. They got rid of Rex and John Idzik then when about leaving no stone unturned in hiring a General Manager and then a head coach. They got a personnel guy that knows talent and not a cap guy who only knows numbers. They got a head coach who has worked under different coaches and knows how to coach. The whole process was handled well by the Jets who for a change did something positive with out having people scratching their heads going …what??? Maybe this franchise is finally learning to be smart.
Raves: Rex Ryan … Life is goes for Rex, he should never complain. Let’s be honest here, it says alot about a league where a coach goes 4 straight years and not make the playoffs finishes 4-12 in his last season with a team gets fired and gets a job. And get a job with the team the beat him twice to the combine score 131-26. Yet that’s what happend to Rex and Rex being Rex couldn’t contain himself in his press conference in Buffalo…”I’m not going to let our fans down,” Ryan said. “I’m not going to do that. I know it has been 15 years since the Bills made the playoffs. Well get ready man, we’re going. We’re going.”
On the defense: “Fourth in the league is probably a little disappointing to be honest with you. That’s not where my expectations are. I know we’ll lead the league in defense. That’s just the way it goes.”
– On Bills owner Terry Pegula: “As Terry likes to say, ‘We have one ego.’ I go, ‘Yes sir, that’s exactly right.’ When he hired me, that ego got a little bigger.”
– On playing tough: “We’re going to build a bully and we’re going to see if you want to play us for 60 minutes.”
– On playing the Patriots: “We’re going to into every game, we expect to win period. Regardless of who we play. If they want to bring back Russ Francis and John Hannah to play guard, we’ll play them too.”
– On his press conferences: “As you guys get to know me, I’m going to have fun with these. I’m going to enjoy it. I don’t take myself too seriously. But what I do take seriously is the product you’re going to see on the field.”
And Ryan gave a parting shot to the Bills previous coach …Doug Marrone …”This football team deserves a loyal coach,” Ryan said. “Nobody is more loyal than me as a football coach, I can tell you that.”

Raves: Urban Meyer and Ohio State …they beat quality teams on the way to the National Title in Alabama and Oregon and did it with a third string QB. This speaks to the depth and preparedness of Ohio State. Congratulations to the Buckeyes!
