Rants: Chip Kelly…The Eagles are 0-2 and the fan base isn’t feeling good with you with all the changes this off season and the one move you decide to do after you go 0-2 is to swap thrid string quarterbacks? Seriously? Really?
Rants:New York Giants Defense … 2 fourth quarter leads 2 fourth quarter collapses 2 loses. The Gmen are 0-2 and need to turn this around asap. The Cowboys own the tie breaker head to head at this point but are hurting , the Eagles can’t score and the Redskins are well the Redskins. The division is there to be taken, can the Giants rebound and make a run?
Update…Giants win 32-21 over Washington making then 1-2 but still need to keep winning to take advantage of the division.
Rants:Gary Kubiak …at 2-0 it sounds like nip picking but when will Kubiak change his offense and make flow better? Sounds like not any time soon.“You stay committed to what you believe in,” Kubiak said, according to the team’s transcript. “We’re going to get to where we want to go offensively if we stay committed to something. We believe in what we’re going. [We’ve] been doing it a long time. We’ve just got to get better at how we’re doing it. As coaches, that always starts with us. You don’t run away from something. You work at it, and that’s what we’re going to do.” Problem is …he has a passing quarterback and his (Kubiak) offense runs best with a running game which is something he doesn’t have at this point. So it sounds like he is going to have to make an adjustment or two otherwise this will be something that will come back to haunt them in their push to make the playoffs later in the season.
Raves: Yogi Berra... R.I. P.Everyone knows him for his humor and his wit, but Yogi Berra was one of the best catchers to ever play in the major leagues. Always a class act, never said hey look at me I was a great Yankee.
Raves:Jason Richardson …Retired after 14 seasons. Was best known for his high flying between the legs dunks, but was also known to adjust his game as he moved from team to team and never became a problem player. Richardson played for the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Charlotte BobCats, Philadelphia 76ers and was looking to come back with the Atlanta Hawks when he announced his retirement. Going to miss watching you play.
Raves: Charles Barkley…Normally Sir Charles would be on the rants list for saying something that would have me saying seriously Charles but this time …Sir Charles gets props for his tribute on the passing of ABA- NBA great Moses Malone:”Because of him working with me before and after practice, we developed this kinship,”
“Like I said, every time I saw him, I called him ‘Dad,’ I gave him a big hug, and I told him how I appreciated and respected what he did for me.
“I never understood why a guy that great — because at that time, he was obviously on the downside of his career; he’d accomplished everything — I never understood why he took a little kid from Alabama under his wing,” Barkley continued. “[…] At the time, it was a struggle, but man, I cannot believe how lucky I am to, No. 1, have a father figure not only on my team but also living in my same building, staying on me consistently [to make sure] that I didn’t do anything, to keep me moving forward. And I always thanked him for that.”
