The Cleveland Browns have finally said what we all suspected for awhile…they are deflating Johnny Football. Or more to the point they will cut Johnny Manziel.
“We’ve been clear about expectations for our players on the field. Johnny’s continual involvement in incidents that run counter to those expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization,” Browns executive vice president Sashi Brown said in the statement.
“His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules. We will have no further comment at this time.”
If you are the Cleveland Browns it’s called enough is enough with this guy already. He can’t stay out of trouble or at least out of video range of anything and gets into more trouble. The Browns have had enough, the final straw came over the weekend. Manziel is being investigated by police in Fort Worth and Dallas for potentially assaulting ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley in an incident early Saturday. The police used a helicopter to search for the former Heisman Trophy winner until he was found.
Despite his skills on the field it is his issues off the field that have made both him and the Cleveland Browns a running joke of which Cleveland has decided they want no part of any more.
