The world lost a champion, and one of my favorite athletes is no more. If you have read any post on Ali here then you know he was my favorite athlete. When I was growing up my childhood and still close friend Joseph would mimic both Howard Cosell and Muhammad Ali. I would always say I am the greatest of all times…just like Ali. He was world famous before Michael Jordan, he was world famous before the internet, long before cellphones , and social media. He talked trash but he backed it up and he was a champion in and out of the ring. He wasn’t perfect, he was mean at times but he was true to himself and stood up for what he believed at all cost to himself, there are few athletes today that are willing to risk anything or everything to stand for what they believe. The generation of today missed out on Ali in his prime. All they see is a shell of what Parkinson’s syndrome and too many blows in his Boxing career especially later on did to him. Look past that , look back and see that he was larger than life. When your mother knows who Ali is and when other women watched his fights …you know he was huge. When the expression is said the one and only Muhammad Ali…it is true…there was only one …The Greatest of All Times. So long Champ!
