Smallthoughts: Old School Tuesday …Allen Iverson

Welcome to Smallthoughts:Old School Tuesday …where we spotlight sports heroes from the past and show alittle love to their career. The one rule of Smallthoughts : Old School Tuesday is that the players we spotlight are retired so …current players will have their day…when they are retired. As you journey with us to the past you may  some times you say I knew that or you may say wow I didn’t realize that or you may say I’m new to this so I am learning something new but in either case welcome and enjoy a journey back to the in this case the not so distance past as we spotlight …Allen Iverson.

Never underestimate someone for their size. In Iverson’s case this is so true , he played bigger than his size suggest (listed at 6 feet tall) He is best known for his cross over move on Michael Jordan and for his distain for practice …”we ain’t talking about the game, we talking about practice”

Iverson was also the NBA Most Valuable Player of the 2000–01 season and led his team to the 2001 NBA Finals the same season.

Iverson was rated the fifth-greatest NBA shooting guard of all time by ESPN in 2008. He officially announced his retirement from professional basketball on October 30, 2013. On April 4, 2016, Iverson was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
