When healthy Otis Birdsong could shoot and fill up a basket with the best of them. Both in college and in the pros.

After completing his eligibility at the University of Houston, Birdsong was the second player chosen in the 1977 NBA draft when he was taken by the Kansas City Kings. He scored over 12,000 career points, averaging 18 points per game, in 12 seasons with the Kings, the New Jersey Nets and the Boston Celtics. Birdsong was a member of the NBA All-Star Team four times. His best season was  1980-81 when he averaged 34.6 points per game for the New Jersey Nets.He was a member of the All-NBA Second Team in 1981.
