In Light of this being the week of the Super Bowl, Smallthoughts: Old school Tuesday reached back in it’s archive to repost this feature on the 1972 Miami Dolphins …the Last unbeaten team to win the SuperBowl.

This is the first time that we are honoring a team and not the individual career of a player. But in this case this is well deserved. In light of the fact that the current Kansas City Chiefs are 8-0 and are a contender for a undefeated season it’s only fitting that we remember thew only team to win every game that season including the Super Bowl was the 1972 Miami Dolphins. The only team to come closet to that was the 2007 New England Patriots.

It is said that when a team seems like they are going to go undefeated for the whole season and finally loses a game the members of the 72 team get together and toast themselves for the rarest of all accomplishments.
