Smallthoughts: Rave of the Week …UConn Women

Image result for uconn basketball 100 wins in a row

UConn women have accomplished something even the  early 70’sUCLA Bruins were unable t accomplish win 100 games in a row. Who does that? the UConn women do now. They own the record the are in the history books.100 wins in a row!!!

I heard a talk show host on the radio ask out loud if Geno Auriemma would have been able to pull this off in the men’s division, probably not but that is a silly question, because all it serves to do is minimize this accomplishment. 100 wins in a row is just that 100 wins in a row regardless of whether it is in the men’s or women’s division of college basketball. Also think about this…no trip up on the way to 100 wins, at some point even as good as a team as UConn would get tripped along the way to 100 wins, the UCLA Bruins had their streak stopped at 88 wins and that was impressive.  UConn hasn’t lost a game since November of 2014 (against Stanford) and that took overtime.

So I am not going to minimize the UConn Huskies accomplishment in fact just that opposite. Congratulations UConn Huskies on a impressive winning streak . Keep it going!
