It’s one thing to be a hot shot offensive coordinator on the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants but it is quite another matter when you are the head coach of one of the bedrock franchises in football. Mc Adoo has been under fire this season for his team’s poor performance by it’s 1-6 record. This was a team that had lofty super bowl expectations. This is bad enough but it seems in recent weeks he has suspended two players for violation of team rules. Dominique Rodgers Cromartie and now Janoris Jenkins were suspended by head coach Mc Adoo. The question is …are the players now running out of control with the season being lost at 1-6? Are the players still engaged with the coaching or are they counting the time for the season to end? Has McAdoo lost control of his team? If the losing continues will the Giants fire the coach along with general manager Jerry Reese?
Even the players who weren’t suspended are divided on if the team is coming apart
Landon Collins said he would have one question if he saw another squad in the NFL that had suspended two Pro Bowl players inside a month for violating team rules and whose season was essentially over before it reached the halfway point with a 1-6 record.
“That’s all you would ask: What’s going on?” the third-year safety said on Wednesday. “You’d be like: Something wild is going on or some people just have a lack of respect for the coach.”
Jenkins was called out by defensive captain Jonathan Casillas both on a phone call and through the media on Wednesday.
“You have to let someone know,” he said. “You have to have enough responsibility to let people know when you’re not going to be there. I think he could have handled it better and it would have been a better turnout.”
I learned something a long time ago perception is reality …and the perception is the head coach is losing control of the team which doesn’t bode well going forward. It’s said he is a really bright guy so its time for him to use those smarts how how to hold his team together at it’s crisis point. It would help if they start winning a few games. Can Ben Doo it?
