It was a signing that many Knick fans myself included didn’t like. In fact the question was didn’t they trade that guy away in the first place now you are going to give him 71 million dollars off a year he was playing for a contract? Oh yeah I was questioning the move but it starting to look like a smart move in light of Hardaway dropping a career-high 38 points against the Toronto Raptors who put a spacking on the Knicks just a week ago. Now Hardaway and the Knicks are both thriving as one of the biggest surprises in the NBA at 10-7.

Best thing yet he is a strong option on offense when Kristaps Porzingis isn’t having one of his best nights. Hardaway picks up the slack to where defenses now will have to play honest which createsmore opportunities for all parties as far as the Knicks are concern.

“I’m thankful to be back here, man,” Hardaway said on Thanksgiving Eve, after the Knicks staged a historic 41-10 third quarter, which included a 28-0 run, to beat the Raptors. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for me. I’m happy. I’m excited. This group loves one another. You can see it on the floor. We’re playing for one another. The passion is there, and we continue to find our identity.”

After a slow start, Hardaway’s scoring average is up to 18.4 points per game, collecting 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists and making a solid swingman tandem with Courtney Lee.So maybe this wasn’t such a bad signing after all.
