I hope you enjoy this particular post. These two were the prime of Brooklyn in their day. Bernard grew up in my neighborhood and yes Fort Greene was that tough and more. Basketball was the neighborhood’s way of expression. Cold and snow didn’t stop us from playing. So I said that to say this Bernie and Ernie is one story I could relate to. Looking at shots of my old neighborhood brought back a lot of memories right to the project buildings. So what I am saying is this Old School Tuesday is personal. I knew of Bernard and his brother Albert. His father worked in Housing and would see him alot. When Bernard made the pros Mr.King spoke of how proud he was of Bernard. It’s a shame Bernard didn’t know that.

I am a lifelong New York Mets, Knicks and Jets and Giants fan. I root hard for my teams and have rooted for them even when it wasn't and in some cases still isn't easy. I enjoy talking sports, and on here I get to write about it as well. I have my thoughts hence Small thoughts, we will not always agree, but respectfully speak about what we feel. I invite your comments and feedback as well. You can also follow me on twitter @bklynboy59 and facebook Jerry bklynboy Small
