It seems like larry Brown could be returning to the NBA again to a team near you.
Brown has been contacted by the Nets, 76ers and possibly the Clippers about their coaching vacancies.
Larry Brown has coached in Philly with the 76ers and in New Jersey with the Nets and on the west coast with the Clippers. Brown dodesn’t come cheap which would in one case possibly rule out the Clippers, he did coach the Sixers to the NBA finals in 2001, and after having been fired by the Knicks coming back home to Brooklyn for the Brooklyn native could be intruguing to Brown. At 72 you wonder what he has left in the tank and at this point would only be considered something a short term fix. Giving him a long term contract would both expensive and not very cost effective. Brown has a passion for eyeballing his next job, and he may also be at the point in hiscoaching life that maybe he would want a short term deal so if it doesn’t work out, he can leave under better terms.
This says alot about the state of coaching if these three teams have contacted him about coaching. With assistants like Brian Shaw and Patrick Ewing looking to be first time coaches to bring in a guty like Larry Brown would be a head scratcher. No word on what Brown will do about returning to the NBA.
