Ok Met fans it’s okay to feel happy be happy Yoenis Cespedes isn’t going to San Francisco , Washington, Houston or the Yankees he is staying in Queens playing for the Mets and there is no opt out clause and he gets a full no trade clause to his deal. Bravo!

I have to give the Wilpons credit, they stepped up big time when they needed to and they didn’t blow up their budget to do. They made a fair a deal in resigning Yoenis Cespedes to a 4 year deal for 110 million. That’s a lot of money, 27 million per year is nothing to sneeze at. A lot is going to be expected of Cespedes and yes there are going to be some that will expect the Mets to bring a championship to Queens during his time. Sandy Alderson still has a lot of work to do in reshaping this glut of outfielders into a closer and better relievers but that is coming. Losing Bartolo Colon was sad I thought for sure he would be a automatic but Sandy moved quickly in bringing back Neil Walker for 2017 and now Yoenis is back for the long term.

Normally I would be the first to rip Sandy and the cheap Wilpons ..but as the last two off seasons has proven they realize the importance of Yoenis Cespedes to the Mets and are willing to do what it takes to keep him here. So I have to say nice job …so far now about catching, the outfield and the bullpen…
